Favorite Oddballs/ Predators for a 55 gallon?

for oddballs get an elephantnose fish: look really weird and have interesting personality. i've seen them playing with floating tin foil balls like they were toys
 
Most bichirs will outgrow a 55g tank.

That being said with their growth rate it is going to take them years to do that.

I swear my ornate has not grown in the year + that I have owned him.

My segalal has grown like half an inch in sevrel months. They grow SLOW...
 
im pretty sure bichirs grow slow AFTER they reach 6 inches.. or something like that
 
African oddball tank, 2 leopard ctenopoma a senegal bichir a ropefish and a couple african butterfly fish and you're set. I have thi setup and love it. Plus they meet all your criteria oddballs and all are predators. When my lfs has a sale on white cloud minnows or ghost shrimp I stock up its a blast to watch them all go hunting :)

Grammodes do not act like dovii. Only thing that u could do that is as much fun as a dovii would be a Flowerhorn. Go with a lone SRD FH.
