Favorite Oddballs/ Predators for a 55 gallon?

im kind of interested in what archer said... does the tank need to be planted?

It doesnt but the ctenopoma would really enjoy big round leaved plants they can be fake though. But no there not necessary just be sure to give the ctenopoma places to hide. I can post pics of my tank if you want

In my experience ropefish prefer being in groups so i'd sub the sen for 1 or 2 more ropes.

first time i got one it became very shy and never came out. Now I have 3 in a 75 and they are much more personable and interactive then the sinle one ever was

My original plan was to get more ropes but my lfs only had the one left so I bought a sen too. My rope is very active and friendly and often piles ontop of my sen. Its neat to watch

ah that makes sense, if you still have the tank in 6-8 months i'll have to take down my tank, i'd sell you my ropes if your near toronto
