Favourite Cichlid?

My favourites always change lol, I always have a convict though in at least one of my tanks; cause their mean personalities make me laugh

How big is the marbled convict? That is incredible that he looks that monstrous at such a young age, if only they all turned out like that!!! It really shows that any American cichlid can be a monster if you are lucky enough to get one with high quality genetics.

+1 i think that a lot of the genetic pool in cichlids such as convicts has become so diluted with inbreeding and hybrids, that when you see a really thick and stocky convict it comes as a genuine surprise.

I'd kill for that marbled convict lol

Thanks everyone! He's about 4 1/2- 5" from nose to tip if his tail. I bought him at 1/2" from lfs. He's in a 75 with a pair of Nics and some silver dollars. He's the tank boss but no real aggression from him like cons I've had in the past. Mostly just flaring and posturing trying to impress the female Nic and chase off the male who's pushing 6-7"
