Beautiful fish.

I was only thinking of geos when I read this thread.
Thorichthys are my favourite by far.

I really would love to devote a tank to a thorichthys sp. and some wild livebarers like poelicia mexicana.
I would have to re-home some stock though.

Thanks,
A tank devoted by one cichlid species may seem a little boring to some.I have found it to be more interesting in lots of ways and I think the results look more natural, especially with c/a's.
I know there are biotopes in c/a where multiple species can be found and some have special relationships with each other but more often species tend to keep to their own kind.

I'm looking to move away from keeping many different species together. After having a group of HRP together, I found it more interesting. I had 3 breeding pairs, with no aggression and the behavior was interesting.

Satanoperca Daemon, Lilith, or acuticeps. Geophagus winekilleri, sveni, argyrostictus, red head tapajos. Biotodoma Cupido and Wavrini. Retroclus Lapidifer.
Who came up with these names? Haha SATANoperca, daemon, Lilith... Sheesh.

Local tribes people.
They used t believe that fish from this genus were the souls of dead people and the fish belonged to the devil.
Satanoperca translates to Satan's perch.

One of these days, I'll have to get back into CA and do a tank with a shoal off thorichthys and a pair of bifasciatum.

We must have similar tastes Rob.
I have been considering a pair of biffas with my helleri.
Helleri are very wide spread and can be found with no less than 18 other cichlid species.
A biotope around this thorichthys offers plenty off biotope options.
