Fed my gar salmon! Will it help him bulk up?

smelt seems very oily and gross to me. they seem to love it though. i allow my fish about 1 smelt each a week...but shrimp is there staple food item. pellets and krill are also offered in moderation on a daily basis.
 
O.K So im on the right track :)
 
i fed mine strictly live for years and just successfully converted (though i still supplement live). I got a bunch of large smelt (silversides) and shrimp from the grocery store, threw in some beerheart, clams and krill. Chopped em all up, put in a minimum amount of unflavored gelatin. Whitefish and smelt are better in the long run then tuna and salmon due to fat content.
 
Is whitewish... silversides? Or just in general white meat?
 
was unaware about the pinkies ill be skipping that idea ill stick with my diets as it is...
