I purchased some feeder gold fish and currently i am keepeing them in a quarantine tank. I read that Its a good idear to treat feeder fish for flukes before they become dinner. most fluke madication contains Malachite Green of witch pirahnas are sensative too. Is it ok for me to treat the feeders with it then wait a few weeks for it to go through their sistems before feeding them to my rbp?

I have fed my p's feeders twice and I dont think it is worth the risk with all the alternatives... mine are fed pellets and frozen shrimp

If the tank looks clean they come out of and the feeders them selves look good ..... Toss um in , And dinner they will have .

I would shy away from bad looking feeders :)

But if dinner looks good ;)

Do not be a push over ........

Use you best judgment .

If Piranha go belly up over a stinking gold fish after I saw what they eat out
the river ......... Than :banher::banhim:And ME ./

hell yea~!

They probably wont die but you should quarintine at least a day and feed the goldfish so they have some proper food in their system so your p will ingest the nutrients from the flake or whatever you fed the goldfish.

if u want to feed them live fish u might be better off with rosey reds there alot cleaner and i would say a better choice of a live food than any gold fish

The bulk of my pirahnas diet is frozen fish meat. I just give them feeders as a treat, I know the risk thats why I rarely do it. I got a bunch of healthy looking feeders and im going to treat them for a few common fish disease's before feeding them to my pirahnas just to make them as safe as posible.

mine eats feeder and beef only
they will not eat pallet or anything else and they are very aggrassive almost lost a finger couple time and i been bitten couple time too. try hand feeding them lol
dont try it unless your superman
