man this site is filled with peta.

heck no,i fry them up im eating them.
oh wait that would make me a bad person. :screwy:

No actually that's good, makes it more ethical for you to feed feeders as you don't differ on your fish being any more important than the feeder you're feeding it.

I don't belong to peta. Peta would say everyone return their fish to their natural habitats and set them free.

If this makes any difference, I have seen turtles taken by fish in the wild. I imagine it would be good for there diet. Especially, if they are as small as I am thinking. Turtles are pretty soft at small sizes and I don't think it would be a problem digesting.

but it comes down to ethics I guess.

right,so putting them in a tank mucks up nature.
then ya want to get them on pellets.that mucks it up more.

so me eating a bass is ok but another animal eating one is a nono? :grinno:

ok im going to eat a turtle.thats ok right?
but a fish eating a turtle isnt? :screwy:

a fish in the wild will eat anything that moves.thats life.

You have to agree putting fish in a glass cube isn't natural at all. So therefore the defense lots use that they want to replicate what happens in the wild with live feedings(typical defense) doesn't hold true. Your tank isn't nature no matter how much you want to believe it. In nature the live food would run and hide, or at least have a chance.

The problem I have with live feeding is everyone always looking for new things to feed in a weird way to top someone else. Years ago it was common goldfish, then it's mice, I've heard serious talks of baby rabbits/hampsters, even kittens and now turtles. It just gets old and everyones defense of wanting a "varied diet" or "replicating wild habits" gets old. Its the immature thinking that you buy a fish for feeding entertainment that brings the hobby down. It's great to watch a fish feed but the fish doesn't care if it's live or not, if it's a monster fish it knows it's good food so it strikes the same. A pygo shoal will attack a peice of raw shrimp just the same as a feeder comet and it's better for them. A pbass will attack a pellet or other non-live food just the same as a feeder comet when it hits the water and well it's better for them.

You're eating a turtle is ok because you want turtle to eat or you're really hungry. But is a shark eating your kid or in the ocean ok? He's hungry I mean.. How about a alligator eating your dog? ok? I mean it would be a varied diet, and well everything is vulnerable as food. Or is this ethically not ok because you hold a dog on a higher level.

All I'm saying is everyone respects these fish they keep as amazing creatures but they don't respect any possible food.

this can go on for days lol

there not looking there copying.
everything in your list has been and will be food to something.

if it's a monster fish it knows it's good food so it strikes the same.
do you have any monster fish?
man its night and day difference.
my aro chases fish then bam hits them and swallows.
i feed him a chunk of shrimp,he swims down, lightly grabs it and swallows.
not even close sorry. :D

But is a shark eating your kid or in the ocean ok?
i dont go in the water so im not worried, problem solved.kid the same.

How about a alligator eating your dog?

Thus, I suggest to stop it right here :D

You can have different opinions, that is fine. You all have been very respectful, which I appreciate. I think each of you has made his/her point. I doubt you will come to a common statement. Just enjoy your hobby, each as he/she likes

i believe in animals rights but i have no problem feeding animals to other animals because its natural but i still feel a bit bad afterwards. but i wouldnt, too dangerous, the turtles could have parasites, salmonella, or the fish cant digest the shells well.

I seriously wouldn't reccomend it for various reasons already stated.

That is just a terrible idea, ethically and for the fish. Those turtles can get the fish sick just like they get kids sick, which is why turtles under 4" are not allowed to be sold except for education and export.
