To those of you who say don't: I understand pellets are the safest food, but if you are feeding your fish any item purchased at the store it is no safer. It could even be less safe! Shrimp and Tilapia are farm raised in much worse conditions then his wild caught fish. I am not sure about salmon as a steady diet, though. The fat content is very high. I see no reason to freeze the meat prior to feeding. Any parasites will show in prep. Ever eat sushi? This is just my opinion, of course.

Agreed. I said to freeze it just to be extra safe lol I feed my fish wild caught stuff all of the time. They dont eat prepared foods in the wild so why feed it to them!

Most sushi Fish are Flash frozen before it is sold to a Sushi Restaurant and Good Sushi chef inspect their fish before being use for sushi. Parasite will always be a risk with raw flesh of any kind

I strongly suggest you do not feed your arowana salmon. I am not sure what arowana you have but salmon is really fatty. and there is a theory that the extra fat will build up behind the eyes and cause drop eye. I for one believe in that myth. Also Salmon is high grade fish meat, but the oil content is too much. Its even visible when you leave it in water. feed it a leaner meat. Silver arowanas are 100% drop eye victims. Jardinis and asians are 10%, and blacks are <1% But regardless too much fat.
