Feeding chicken to Cichla

So i gave my cichla some pieces of chicken breast the other day and they went CRAZY over it. they all ate w/o hesitation. anybody else feed chicken? right now i have mine on tilapia, any downsides to chicken as an additional daily staple? looking for the cheapest options here

What about beef heart? That's ALL protein, lol.
I don't see a problem with chicken, I've fed it to the oscars I used to have, they loved it as well. I didn't feed it on a regular basis, but I never saw any health issues or ill effects from it.

yeah raw. im not gonna bbq it for them lol just take some chicken breast, thaw it out, cut in pieces, and dump it in

No i did not think you had the old Webber fired up! i just did not know if you had some left over dinner you threw in or what. I have never done this with chicken but i do do it with fish.

No, it will not turn out good in the long run as fish cannot digest mammal and bird fats like humans can. Just stick to feeding shrimp and tilapia.

Arowana have been known to jump up and snatch birds and devour them.Having said that I would only use it as a treat,and in small ammounts.
