feeding jags

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if i were you i would start cycling the tanks, and i had the same problem with scam also. i payed to much for what supose to be a 75gallon turned to be a 50gallon, the stand was crap also

well i had a busy couple of days not being able to pay any attention to my jag tank and i didnt notice that the fish cought ick. i lost most of my fish (so far) so needless to say the breeding feederproject is on hold untll i get my jag tank back up and running. this sucks.

sorry to hear about your jags man that sucks, i think you will be happy either with jags or festae they are both awesome fish

if it were me I'd run with it, get 2 pairs of cons, put 1 pair in the 20g and another in the 26g, then go to target/walmart get 2 (preferably 3) 45g tubs. stick those in the garage.

get a pump and setup one of the 10g as a sump or wet/dry filter and plumb that to the 3 45g tubs. The idea is to setup 3 stages of fry, the smallest in the first and the "ready to be fed" in the last.

keep the breeders in doors and make them as comfortable as possible, they're your best freinds because they supply you with cheap food.

I run a similar setup with my mollies and no it's not expensive or really much more work. It's acvtually low maintainance and I've ahd great success. Now there are lulls in the feeding pool but I simply allow my breeders rest and wait till they start going at it on their own again. Most cons/mollies/guppies will not need any reason to breed so if they're not, theres a reason if it's a parameter thign take care of it but also realize they could simply be goign dormant for the season and waiting for them won't kill you. I've found most people who ahve poor success with feeder breedign are overzealous with making then breed 365 days a year. this will not be good for your breeders in the long run and I consider my breeders pets. so let them have their rest every year and they'll keep the food hain coming the rest fo the time.

i just got back from a relatives house and he gave me 3-55 gallon and 1-20 gallon aquariums FREE. now i have all the aquariums that i think i will need (probably more). it will be a little while before i get any further because i am going to have sell my boat so i can afford all the pumps and heaters for these aquariums. not to mention the build of a stand for all these aquariums.
My current stock on my aquariums are as follow.
3x 55 gal.
1x 29 gal.
2x 20 gal.
4x 10 gal.

I am thinking the stand will be 10ft wide by 7ft tall.
I AM LOOKING FOREWARD TO THIS BUILD!!!!!!!!!!!
