Feeding my fish worms and grubs from outside ok?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Worked well for me. I don't do it anymore because I get crickets for free but when I did I fed my fish everyday and never had a shortage of worms. Plus they turn the soil you use into great fertilizer.

Buy a bunch of earth worms, put them in dirt and put vegetable matter in as necessary. Banana peels work great. Use a rubber maid bin. Make sure it's at least 2 x 2 x 2. A smaller one would work but you'll get more worms with more space. Leave them for a month ( keep adding vegetables) and take some out every now and then to feed to your fish.

Thank you.
Strawberrys too! Be cautious when doing this though, the fruits do get a little moldy sometimes :headbang2

Yes Younglin, thank you for sharing :)

Yea, i do this for fishing and to feed my fishes. The bigger the tub the more worms you'll get!

i think im gonna start with a 10 gallon tank and 60 worms. Should i use store bought soil or just grab some dirt from outside that is chemical free

I say store bought, it's a safer bet. I'll be picking up a bag of top soil with no additives.

That's what I did.
