Feeding routine

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats great ! Nothing gets between an endli and tilapia

I havent tried feeding my bichirs worms, do you just drop it in the tank?
Just rinse and drop it off. Becareful if you get earth worms at bait shop like Walmart. Some has a dye injected into them. I don't like feeding worms cuz it grossed me out.

By the way nice videos. My polys won't do death rolls. They are too skittish during feeding time. I want some Congicus so I can see death rolls.

Since this is the topic on feeding want to get some opinions

My 300g has these six (6) polys and their approximate sizes
Dabola endli 18"
Ansorgii 15"
Koliba lap 15.5"
Faranah lap 14.5"
Weeksii 13.5"
Teugelsi 12.5"

I had been feeding one tilapia fillet every two night and have had zero left over food in the morning. But these fillets are kind of small so I have feed one every night for about three days and each morning all food is gone. You guys have seen my fish and while they are not hurting for food, I feel as if I am not feeding often enough. So if this were your stock what amount would you feed?

My stock is similiar to your except I have two big top swimmers. I feed two fillets every two nights.

5 polys 18-22" + 1 greedy 10" fat bastard silver dat .

I stopped doing the every other day regiment. It gutloads them and don't feel its necesary at this stage. For Example - I Feed Monday, then on Thursday, then Sunday 1 fz tilapia each time.

Here's a prior video for those who haven't seen it. Note: Weeksii, endli, and sexfaciatus characin got rehomed

I feed my one tilapia every other day since mines are still 11"-14". What i do is cut the tialpia in four slices horizontal and vertical to make them rectangel shape, the bottom part i cut into cubes and the top part its thick so i slice that up again im the middle to make it thin and same thing i cut into cubes. Sometime ill see a few left over sometime its all gone. Ive noticed that ill ahve left over tilapia if i feed the polys anchovies or smelt from the last feeding, so i guessing i whole fish with guys and bone and scales takes time to digest.
