For commons I try not to feed them anything meaty as they will grow up and crave it more. I had a 21.5" common that would kill fish and suck them to death. I'd wake up to fish with round white spots in a few spots.

um because many plecos dont eat algae, and usually the ones that do require other foods to. what type of plecos do you have? i wouldnt recommend just letting your pleco eat alae, especially if there isnt much?!?!?I don't feed my plecos . isnt there JOB to eat algae ?????? I don't have algae so i think thay are good . Y feed then ??? it's like going out for STAEK then going home and having someone telling u that u should eat hotdogs ?????![]()

Very few plecos eat algae. Many are actually meat eaters, and algae is only part of their diet. It is a common misconception that they can survive exclusively on algae. Commons can be kept like this, but even they will become carnivorous at a certain size.I don't feed my plecos . isnt there JOB to eat algae ?????? I don't have algae so i think thay are good .
