As long as you take the proper precautions, I see nothing wrong with it. Of course, proper precautions for me is keeping them under quarantine for a month, feeding them, and medicating them if necessary. Then there's also the few cool things you catch which just means more tanks lol. Even when I do baitshop feeders, which are golden shiners around here, I still follow the same routine. In the QT bin for 30 days, feed 'em, water changes, a little salt, and a touch of prazi pro. Never have any issues.
Not really. I don't do it every day I just sometimes will put a piece of massivore in there and cover it with dirt. The only reason I know they eat it is cuz if you dig it up the next day the worms are congregating there.
