You got cheated. They should have not let you enter those fish in the auction at the start. They should have a list of what you have, and a educated person who can verify that. But he shouldnt have put you on blast either.
It was'nt the clubs fault it was a voulnteer who did this and from what the one member has told my wife they had no idea he was this kind of guy as I said earlier the Calgary aquarium society encourages people to get into fish of all kinds. There were no rules saying that hybrids could not be sold it was just this one man doing this by himself and he didn't dislike all hybrids just certain kinds that is was got us so upset I don't hold anything against the club because they had no idea we all know how hard it is to find volnteers.
However, if you want to fix it, maybe YOU should volunteer to be the auctioneer. Sounds about right to me. If he's the only person offering, then the club is stuck with him.
Feels good to volunteer; I just started last week at a Low Income clinic.
He wasn't the only auctioneer there were a few others it's just that he ended up with our RT and called them frankenstein fish but was not kidding as we found out after the sale and by then there were very few people left at the sale in fact it was all over the other guys were very good and described the fish and plants very well. It was just one bad apple that came from out of province people should have their views but don't use them when you are selling another persons product and shorting funds for another clubs fund raising this would be like a vegitarian selling hambergers and telling everyone meat was horrible.
