Feels good to be a non-smoker again

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Congrats to everyone who has quit and is quiting. You will be saving thousands of dollars and extending your health for the future. Smoking is so destructive. Imagine your clean healthy lungs trying to breathe in clean oxygen to live and you voluntarily cloud it with poisonous toxic smoke. No logic what so ever anyone who would want to do that.

Congrats. I used Zyban after many failures with patches, mainly because they failed to stick like most plasters, and I failed on gum because it tasted horrible.
I was finally given Zyban but I was given light duties with particular attention paid to restricted firearms and explosive duties because it is well known to cause strong suicidal tendancies as well as seizures.
However, given the terrible possibilities it was the best decision I made to go on it. Quit with no hassle or even the slightlest urge to smoke since. I officially gave up successfully, after the zyban was stopped, on Friday 13th April 2007 the day of my most successful operation. The surgeon said he would not operate if I was still a smoker, so I quit.

I hear good things about chantix though, at the time I quit, the MOD were not supporting it on their medications list; with its minimal side effects in comparison to zybans which can be quite severe.

Ive been smoking for 5 years, tried to quit a few times without success.

Im now trying to slowly reduce the amount i smoke daily, gone down to 2 cigs a day.

I have decided to make the move to cigars, i smoked them in the past and only a couple a week. Why go from one bad habbit to another?

Becouse i have always enjoyed a good smoke, that is what makes it so hard to quit and i honestly beleive cigar smoke is less harmfull to ones health, you smoke less and do not inhale for one.

Congrats to those of you who have quit, and good luck to those who are trying, it isnt easy but its worth it, stay strong.

Congrats quitting smoking was the best thing I ever done for myself and those around me started when I was just twelve and smoked tell I was fifty at the last three packs a day, I tryed sveral things gum, patches wellbutrin but chantax was the only one that helped me overcome my addiction three years and seven months later still smoke free!!

im in the same boat at you are. week 8 of not smoking after 5 years and i wake up everyday wanting a smoke. my sister took Wellbutrin to quit but also to treat depression and id rather not take anti depressants. good job on staying clean and remember your not going through it alone

Staying strong with well power is key. Even with Chantix I'm having a hard time with cravings but not as much if I did it cold turkey.
