However, about the slimecoat thing. Flagtails only suck the slimecoat off other fish if they do not get enough vegetables in their diet. They will eat meat, but make sure you provide them with veggie flakes, lettuce, cucumbers, etc. They will not suck clime if offered veggies.

I respectfully disagree with the feeding veggies theory, Ive given blanched vegs, along with fish or shrimp and massivore to all my flagtails nightly and almost all of them started hitting the slime, bichirs, scaleless catfish, discus, I even had an 8"er in with a mean 24" jardini and
that FF would not leave the jars slime alone- the 10"er I have now, so far has not bothered any tankmates, Ive had him since 1 1/2", neither have my shoal of 4, but theyre 4" and young yet-

still on the food topic, a flagtail is the only fish Ive ever had starve itself to death- since then Ive insisted on seei ng each one eat while still at the LFS

No. AAs long as there isn't to many fish in the tank and he doesn't feel crammped up you should be safe to get one. Thats a 120 gallon, if I add them up correct? If so you should be a ok, seeing that flagtails are slow growers while Tae. only reaching 10-12''. and insiginis reaching up to 16''.

I think that a 120g tank is too small for such a large active fish- a former group of 4x 4"-5" FF sat and hovered in one spot in a 115g tank, when I put them in a 220g the swam together like neons-
you could house them in a 120g, but you could really enjoy them in a larger tank

i thot ff werent schooling fish
Their not supposed to be. Many people have had success schooling them buts that because they were in huge tanks. You have room for 1 or whatever.

would their be a problem kepping them with bichers? like eating their slime coat? also what about a jack dempsey would the jack dempsey beat on him my jack dempsey really is to aggressive but idk.

in the wild they do school, but in captivity most people lack the resources needed to keep a good sized group

in a tank the size you describe there wouldn't be any room for other fish, just the flagtail alone would be pushing it

the fish requires a big tank, this one I saw on display was around 40 cm,
