Fell in love at the lfs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That being said, ive raised plenty of 'shoal' fish solo. Ime, solo raised piranhas are meaner and more outgoing.

I always thought a solo rbp was shy and skittish without rbp tank mates to shoal with, we've had a few members over the past keep one alone and they always hid and were much less active. But I'm sure with your p keeping xp you can make it the opposite! Look forward to picking this up in 6 months

Go S. Vettel #1 rb8

This is a guy in indiana's old red belly. Been solo its whole life if i remember correctly.

I need to get a camera up however my rpb’s look much more similar to the wild caught although I can almost guarantee they aren’t as far as jaw appearance. It would be interesting to see if the size food they eat plays a factor in jaw development. Fish fed pellets would most likely just suck their food up without really having to chew. Mine however have to go into a frenzy on good sized chunks of fish which they have to tear apart. It is just a theory however could be another interesting experiment for someone. I just hack up whiting with a hatchet and throw in thawed chunks which get devoured by the whole shoal.

Chewing will definitely affect the jaw size in some way; we'll just have to wait and see >.<

Mike, is it easy to breed crayfishes ?

So i have only really fed him once since i got him. And that was a bit of left over spine from a tilapia my cariba ate. And he loved it, chewed on it for a while. So today i tossed in some fin i cut off a tilapia and he chewed on that and ate a bit. Then tonight i tossed in a bit of raw carrot. I was expecting him to ignore it or just chew on it. Little guy bit right through it and ate about a quarter of the carrot in a few minutes. His jaw strength and teeth never stop amazing me.

Man definitely a soon to be beast.. I should try throwing a piece of carrot to my shoal and see if it gets eaten or not.

lol she was loving that. Thats definitely his corner.

Whatre you keepin in the 80 gallon tank now?

Wished I could've kept it but I sold it once I had the 125 set up. If I could get my hands on a rhom, i will do anything possible to get a new tank running without hesitation.
