What birds do you keep? I know this has been asked before but I'd just like to see some more pictures. Anybody keep Ornamental birds? I'm becoming more and more interested in Ornamental birds and want to build an outdoor hutch for a Peacock and Peahen aswell asa few other Ornamental Species.

I'm still working on getting my cage and toys together for my future parrots but once I have all that I'm going to get it. I will also have two Button Quail for the bottom of the parrots enclosure.

I wanna see some birdies!

Us reptile keepers, who are not found of birds, were hoping you posted some pretty pictures. Birds are pretty, but we don't like taking care of them. ;)

Lol, I like reptiles and keep them, but I like birds aswell. So what does that make me? I meen, Dinosaurs such as Raptors evolved from Predatory birds.

Apart from Parrots and Ornamental birds, I also like predatory birds ALOT.

I hope to someday Own Hawks, Owls, Peacocks, and Emu's along with A Scarlet Macaw and African Timneh Grey.:)

Planning to run your own animal centre someday? Your dreams are so out there, that I think you would need to run a business.

I know I am already working this one college guy with the idea of a reptile centre, problem is the money, location and what to put in it.

Haha, Not saying its going to happen, but I would really like to own such animals. If I had the money and space I have always wanted to start an exotic animal sanctuary on a huge ammount of land with large outdoor enclosure for all of the animals.

But when I am moved out of my Parents house the only animals I will have will be My bird. I plan to get some type of exotic though, Possibly a potbelly pig, I have been reading up on the quite a bit.

I have a sun conard that i gave to my gf as a present because they seem to get along.

I also have a sun conure, about 18 years old now. For those interested in keeping birds, please keep in mind that they require time & maintenence! Parrots/conures need about an hour of attention every day as they are very social. If they do not get adequate attention, they will pluck their own feathers out from boredom. Expect to spend $100-$200 for an annual blood test. Also expect to chop up lots of fresh fruit. ALSO expect to clean the cage bottom daily. I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, just urging all potential future bird keepers to commit!
Here's a pic of my bird.

I keep reeves pheasants, amherst pheasant, roller and homer pidgeons, bobwhite quails, ringneck doves, tolouse and african geese and indian runner duck. Oh and a solo bantty chicken and a solo guinea fowl that we will give to my dads friend when we find out the sex. Any questions :)

I suppose chickens don't count. Have a friend with a buzzard, and a friend that looks after 2,000 pheasants and 8,000 partridge (or t'other way around). Guess doesn't count though.
