The Dovii that I purchased is only about 3 inches long but he has lots of black speckles and a long mouth which is usually characteristic of a male Dovii. He was on sale for $20. The salesman also said that he was about 90% sure that it was a male. They had several large females in the tank and one juvenile about 5 inches long with a lot of attitude the appeared to be a male but we were not sure because it only had a few black speckles. I should have purchased him because he was vicious. They also had some beautiful Grammodes that the salesman said he would give us a good deal on. I am experimenting to see which foods he likes to eat. So far I have given him cichlid pellets, and cichlid sticks. What else can I give him to assure rapid growth?
