FEMALE FESTAE VS FEMALE RTM

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tricks??? what tricks did your festaes do? i didnt see any tricks in those videos lol. No offense but you can train almost any cichlid to do tricks and festaes are intelligent but the most ive been able to get a festae to do was follow a bottle cap across the table. Festaes will most likely always win the color contest but you will see your occasional female Motas that cant be touched;) and im not talking abouit mine, ive seen a female RTM that looks better than alot of female festaes ive seen. But ive also seen alot of dull motas as well. as far as consistancy goes, festae all the way.
Then maybe you need to see more festae! That is my least best looking pair of festae and your occasional female Mota wish it could look as nice! While you are looking for the occasional female RTM that can't be touched. I will go in any of my tanks and pick through my hundreds of festae and put any female againts your best female RTM and shame the poor RTM.LOL! When I post that same female in the video, Then ask me about the tricks that you did not see them do.LOL! Anyway, I am just having fun. I love festae! I have been doing this for a very long time! RTM are nice and here is my male! I have to wait for the occasional nice looking female so I can post her LOL!:grinno:

I saw a nice Festae pair but I too failed to see any tricks. I agree that many other cichlids learn tricks too. Festae and RTM are both beautiful fish. Jason, you've always shared pics of some very healthy and gorgeous cichlids. Keep up the good work. Balton's female Festae is another one of my favorites.

The tricks that I am talking about are not in the videos. What fresh water fish can change colors right before ones eyes like a festae can? None! Festae do not have to learn to look the best. They just do!

Thanks for clearing that up. You had me lost there for a minute. Yes, they can and do change colors pretty quickly. I just never heard of their color change being described as a trick. That's what through me off and probably Jason as well. There's another member from NOLA named Bill that shares your passion for the beauty of Festae. He has posted a few pics of his too. Enjoy your Festae! I'm very fond of Festae but I'd still like to see more pics of female RTM.
