THE PICS ABOVE ARE MEMBERS OF THE THE DISTINGUISHED EBA{ECUADOR BAR ASSOC.}, representing the Blue, Green, and Black Bar chapters.
PHOTOS 2 & 4 ARE THE SAME FISH

Great festae videos for comparison. i especially like smoothoperators pair!! i actually have that video in my favorites on you tube:) but come on you found some of the dullest RTM videos to compare to lol so no contest there;) Festae have and always be my favorite cichlid.

I like both. Here are some my old fish.]

Nice collection, beautiful fish. Good job.

Sorry, I had to edit I thought this was in fun.

The tricks that I am talking about are not in the videos. What fresh water fish can change colors right before ones eyes like a festae can? None! Festae do not have to learn to look the best. They just do!
I have several that change before my eyes all of the time. Cutteri, Oblongums, Rainbows, Centrarchus, La Ceiba Yellow Head, green texas. Out of all of the color changer's I've owned I would say festae will cycle colors more often then most, but I watch back and forth cycling going on all the time in my community tanks. Just depends on who's horny or pissed off.

Okay! J-Mon. Are these better?

Did you miss the following link from my previous post?
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...Female-and-Fry

Now where are the ones you said can't be touched? You keep concluding with your favorite being Festae, but you're promoting RTM.
Oh wait! You've got RTM fry. My bad!:lipsseale

Oh, and you owning hundreds even thousands of Festae.

Now, now J-Mon! If your pair of Festae have given you at least 3 spawns that could easily amount to 2000-3000 wigglers. And if you have had at least 3 pairs over the years, dem wigglers could really add up, eh? Sweet subterfuge! :nono:

But I digress.

You asked RR to post his best Festae. Your challenge is to post the Utouchable RTM's you referred to. The ball is now in your court. Batter up!
Oh BTW, you can just ignore the following pic. You'll need all your energy locating those UNTOUCHABLE RTMs!

Back in the day females like this were abundant. Now with all the inbreeding and double inbreeding, specimens like this are rarely seen.

Somewhat true. The fish you mentioned maintain a base coloration which as you said intensify and detensify according to mood and lighting. We're talking about a complete metamorphasis on a dime. And we're also talking Festae vs RTM.

After watching one of Jason's(Freshwaterpredators) vids, it got me wandering, which would you say has the most striking colors and appeal, the female festae or the female rtm? Oh and post pics of your females:drool:lol

No one has bothered to answer the 2nd part of the O/P's thread. Which of the 2 species has the MOST APPEAL?

I thought I did. Well , for the record I'll say that of the two, Festae has the most appeal and color to me. Jason even said that Festae are his favorite. I thought that after the last Mod clean up that this thread would take a different course. It looks like another clean up or thread lock is on the horizon. The sad thing is that you guys have much to bring to the hobby that many appreciate if we can get pass the debate. Everyone has a preference that should be respected. I don't see a point in trying to trump one another with pics, videos, insults, and sly remarks. I speak to several members on this thread and I know that each has great species of cichlids and a knowledge of them. This hobby is small. We run the chance of dealing with each other down the line at some point either directly or indirectly. Why burn bridges over nonsense? RTM or Festae, take your pick. Everyone should stick with posting videos and pictures of their choice minus the bickering and insults. That being said, bring on the pics!Peace!
