Female Motoro Wound(pic)

The reason I suggested it is because I've kept rays for about five years and been here for awhile, and I've seen a lot of threads where a seemingly healthy ray goes south and fast. Ray's aren't like other fish they're skins pretty sensitive and they're very susceptible to stress and I've seen a ray eat till the day it literally died. No death curl no odd sign's in behavior just died and seen this in numerous threads here so I figured it was common and not worth the risk if a spare tank is accessible. Personally I like to be safe rather than sorry and maybe that's why I haven't lost a fish to anything other than unexpected predation in years. But as you've said it's your choice and you feel it's fine so again I wish you good luck.

i just wanted to point out that i think those marks are typical of what people blame plecos for. its writen all over that they may suck on the discs and i think people read this , see these marks and blame the pleco in the tank when in actual fact its one of the other rays making a mark that looks nothing like what you would expect from a ray. ( im not saying plecos dont do this . just that they are often blamed too easily for something they havnt done just because its written and read lots and the mark doesnt look like something a ray could do . . . well they can )

my male often leaves these marks on one of my females and then leaves her alone for a while.

and just to make sure i took my pleco out of the tank so i know it wasnt him although i suspected it at the time.

my female heals pretty quick but i have partitioned her in the past to give her a break and chance to recover.

hope it helps.

Il buy some net and make a divider. So i have it clear if this accours often.. Im not new to rays, but im not experienced either. Ive had them for 1 year now, and havent had a problem yet. Everything is going smooth. But the Male became mature really fast :)

I totally get you koltsix :) But im not into doing drastic stressfull actions if its not necesary, that can ble harmfull aswell.. Il se the next days, and if it doesnt heal up, il put a divider as you said(since i dont have a spare tank with a great amount of volum and big filters)

Like Keep said just keep up on WC and since you removed the plecos I will bet it will start healing just fine. It doesn't appear to be the bite of another ray.

Hey again. After i took out the ancistrus the mature male seems to hide very easyli, i did change the driftwood some, and he had a place were he always relaxed, and i changed this. Could this be the answere of his behaviour? that i ruined his common place?

Hey again. Now some time has gone, and ive threated with melafix, not with big results. She is even getting more wounds, small once, the last one the skin was not even totally off, it was swaying as she swam. I have failed to mention that i have a Jack Dempsey in there, could he be the bad guy? That he found his victim? i think its weird that it is only on 1 of the rays if it is him. I do not think it is the Geophagus altifrons, they are very friendly fish.
