Festae colony:)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
oh yeah i was treating this tank for ick when this video was taken cause the clown loaches came down with a small case. ive got rid of the ick before it spread to any of the others. so ill get another video where the water is more clear.

CL's and their ick, those guys are terrrible! The festae look great Jason. Yours are ahaed of my group a ways. Mine are just now an 1" TL.

nice colony.keep me in mind later if you have an extra f0 female.

The Cl's.. this is the first time keeping them. is there anything i should now about them? are they prone to Ick? if so ill move them out of that tank cause i dont want any of my festae getting it or anything else for that matter.

John- ill definitely have some females left over. i have 6 known that i picked up from Dan and i only plan on 2-3 pairs. ill hit you up when the time comes to sell them:)

The CL's are ick MAGNETS IMO.. I have heard so many people constantly fighting something with those fish on a weekly basis I vowed to just not keep them in general. Look up thread in the lessons learned section by "chesterthe hero" he has pics of some terrible times with those fish.

Hey thanks for the info:) good to know, ill look into it and hopefully i wont have too many issues with them or theyll find a new home;)

To Be honest, I have never had one problem with my loaches. Even when I had ich in my tank my loaches never got it. But I do love the video. Yours are much bigger than mine. I only have 3 f1's can't tell sex yet, only about 2" or so.

Nice looking fish, will be interesting to see what happens over the next little while. I found with my 8 that once a pair formed they dominated the tank and all the rest were very submissive. Yours do have a bit more space than mine did when they were young. Do you plan on keeping multiple pairs together, or just one pair per tank?

Ah Right on. What would you call a F1xF0?

A festae? The F0/1/2 thing isn't really relevant (IMO) when you start getting more than a generation or two away from with wild caught parents, or when you start mixing them up.
