This is "Tiny" currently about 2 inches. I've had it since he/she (leaning toward female with lots of spangling?) was quite literally only an inch. Tiny was bullied excessively in the small/overcrowded tank it was in and is now basically running the show in this tank. The only one that does not seem too bothered by it is the Pacu!

Note: I had to turn the brightness down on this photo so you could see it. My lights were on and it was one of those "hurry up it's sitting still for two seconds" moments.

Tiny is male and by the looks of it he's going to be a stunner.

He's definitely got the "stunner" attitude! One can only hope. Even if he turns out to look mediocre, he'll always be my favorite, who doesn't love the underdog! Could you give me some of your input on the male determination?

I also found an older thread:

I have an untrained eye. I'm always looking to improve. I thought female because of the color but also noticed too much spangling to be female? I have seen females with spangling just not that much.

Thank you all for the kind words!

Well you had it some what right about the spangles some female have heavier spangles then normal but it usually doesn't go in the fins as much. Tiny is a typical male and what you want to look for in a male. As soon as I seen the pic I had no doubt in him being a male.

He's got so much color now once older he's going to be a looker for sure. I never a male so young look like that. Plus you said he's got a attitude to match witch just makes me think male even more.

A few updated pics of the group...

As you can see (torn up fins), the male went nuts and started beating on the female and "tiny" so a tank separator is in place until she can better defend herself....or mate.
