Looking great so far. I will give you this advice be patient with Festae it’s a marathon not a sprint.
He will get big and thick but it takes a couple years for you to see the nuchal hump.

Thanks for the advice. I have prepared myself for the long haul with this fish. Years back when. I first got into the hobby I definitely did not have the patience but as time goes on I have learn that this hobby is all about patience and rushing things are never good.
Update photo from today. Rojo is approx 10-11 months old.
March 22nd marks 1 year that I have had this fish. Most ilof the time I believed Rojo to be male but turns out he is a she 
She is easily 6" now and continues to improve her coloration. From all my searching around 6" after about a year seems about normal for a female festae.
I tried keeping her with some red Hook silver dollars but she is just too territorial and they were not going to do well so I sold them. She will likely remain a solo wet pet but may be tempted to try something once she is moved to her larger tank as she grows.
