Go with a male Midas, somehow all the Festaes I have kept so far never had the outgoing attitude like that of Midas. But than again it might of just been my luck.
Festae or Midas in a 90Gal

My old male was outgoing but it would take years to grow them out compared to a Midas. Midas grows faster and more personality but is very common. Festae looks better and is more rare when it reaches full adult size but less personality.

I love the midas for its personality, but like the festae for its color.

I am not interested in the barred midas due to its lack of color, if its going to be a solo wet pet then it has to have color.
I have looked at other amphilophious species, the only other one I was considering was the Lyonsi, but the only place that i could find that had them was charging an arm and a leg for shipping. They get more color than a trimac, smaller, and less aggressive.

Yea tnt is where i inquired on the lyonsi, to ship to mass it would cost $70 for shipping. Other places I have dealt with the shipping was less than $30 overnight. Id love to see some pics of your lyonsi though!! Do your lyonsi have alot of personality?
Thanks again for all the posts. Seems to be pretty even votes. I have this posted on another forum and its tied. Although after watching some YouTube videos the Midas has much more personality than the terror. Terror just has color on the midas.

Barred Midas definately. If you want more color in your Barred then go for a 'Red Isletas' or red headed Midas. Stil have the black and white bars but with a Festae colored head. Look awesome!! Rapps has a couple now. I have a Barred Midas but for some reason mine is purpley red with black and white bars. See how Ruck Fules Midas has grey fins mine has red purple fins.
