Festae or Ornatum?

I've had mine only since early Feb, and as they are only 1.5-2" my experience is very limited.
They are much like N. haitiensus or tetracanthus at this size, and were on each other like flies on sh"t in a 55 gal the moment I got them, but as soon as I dropped in half dozen larger Guianacara the aggression lightened up considerably.
For me, if its easy to do, I lose interest.

Those are real nice! Great color and there only 2". But back on topic i would get an ornatum because you simply dont see too many large adults around

Cheers :)

I suspect festae will win the poll by quite a big margin. Most threads on ornatum on MFK that I have read make repeated mention of how this species is exceedingly slow growing, incredibly aggressive and yet very shy and not at all personable. All terrible traits for a large cichlid to have.

Not to mention that I've only heard of one person successfully spawning ornatum but I have yet to see any proof!! So my vote is obviously for Festae:)
also ornatum were the hardest for me to sex, even venting. I bought a group of lil ones in the past and grew them out untill I got bored lol then I bought a group of larger ones Umbeeking imported and still no luck pairing or being able to sex them. I personally have no interest in the fish anymore as it was said before, what a waste of time, space, and money:/

Miguel~ They do go well with all your Amphilophus. You should try some too :D

Who says i haven't?:)

Never foind the awesomeness you guys find.

And never had so timid fish...

Miguel is slowly pushing me towards the ornatum side of the fence...just to be different. Both are now tied on 12 votes each haha. I'll get whichever reaches 15 votes first, since I am well and truly undecided.
