Festae update: Still need sex!.......

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not sure on the sex but I was thinking female but I could be wrong. The only thing that points to a male for me is the color on the face. Just my opinion!!!

Either way u have a very good looking Red terror!!!!

Thanks bro!

That looks pretty female to me, some females will keep spangling in the rear of the top fin just like that one. I've seen males with bars look like females, but never a red male. Also, females can have green faces just the same as males, that's not a defining trait.

Man, opinions on sex are still roughly 50/50.... guess I'll wait some more and take some more pics!

female as i agree with the last guy. fish is very red and blue speckles can still dissapear or permantly stay. green on face can be on both

i say female, there is no way a male can be that beautiful. I think Jeff Rapps can demonstrate your answer with his spangled female red terror.

yeah either way its an AWESOME FESTAE, showing great colors for such a young fish, though i will say since its wild caught it may never be the outgoing tank buster you want, VRWC pair was wild caught and other than flaring at you a bit when you first got close to the tank, they pretty much hid under their logs, i mean they were gorgeous fish but pretty shy, my little F1 from them though never hides and is always at the front of my tank and is the first one to swim up begging for food when i walk past and he is only 2in lol (and has been this way since i got him at less than .5in as were all his siblings that he unfortunately killed :()

totally agree some of the males out there are absolutely breath taking especially when they get that all gold sparkly color:drool: and iv actually noticed that most males will still color up nice without a female but only a few females will color up that nice without a male in the tank
