I was thinking about this the other day. I think if you got a good looking pot that is painted (ceramic looking gloss coating they fire them with) bash it with a hammer, then sand it to make it look old. Might have to try a couple but I think it would look really natural for something man made.

Don't worry about the size of it as long as the female can get in there. Remember, eggs can be fertilized from the opposite side of a tank through a divider with ease. So i doubt a flowerpot will prove to be difficult for them.

That female looks like shes on fire ...I would go with a larger pot and as other have suggested clay pots are fairly cheap. Your male in that pot would be just like a fat guy in a little coat
