He looked stressed before. Looks more settled in now. He will probably lose more color as he grows and gain more pearl. It happens with most flowerhorns. Mix some colored gravel in with yours if you want to see better colors out of your fish.

thats feel me sick, i did buy him because of his deep color when i saw him at the lfs, i though i got the fh that im looking for, but in a sudden he turn looks like my 2 previous fh, btw thanks Camps mybro, will do it a gravel matter.

@all, thanks for the reply :D

If you got them from LFS, chances are they will turn out the same most of the time..
Unless you can find some weird & unique ones out of the batch..
Btw, are you using coral chips as substrate?

yup my previous two FH and this one are from LFS but in different store & location, only the new small fry is from the street vendor. nope, i dont have corals bro, i only used gravel, stone & plastic plants as my substrate and designed. now i already buy 2 bags of black gravel, im still finding of colored gravel, its out of stock in my nearest LFS.

He is still pretty. I know you wanted him to stay the same but cichlids change colour, but he's still beautiful. Also a lighter background will help him stand out more.
