That makes sense.. & on the + side, they get to play with the gravels as well..
IMO, the way to know if a fh is comfortable is by its stress bar.. If the fh display stress bar for too long, then something is not right either from its surrounding or the water has turned bad.. & another thing is to see if the fh is active or not..
A fh that actively swims around all the time is usually a happy fish unless it gets provoked.. lol

okey, i note that one... thank you bro ;) mine is active all the time and always begging of food every time i walk near the tank...

Looking good now. He even has a little KOK coming in.

thanks, yup its start popping up.

I know, when I was changing the gravel in my tank I noticed the stress bars but after he was okay. But if they keep the stress bars somrthing in wrong.

i noticed that stress bar after 50% W/C, but in just a few minutes the color is back to normal and looks comfortable again..

That's normal.. & also when switching on the aquarium light, they display stress bar as well especially when they are sleeping..
But sometimes, stress bar could also hint that they are excited..

I didn't know they showed stress bars when they are excited too. But if the stress bars stay something is wrong right?

yup its appeared in the young FH when they excited of food, but i didn't noticed it from my adult FH.

If the stress bar remain visible for too long & the fh stays at one corner assuming that the fh has been in the tank for some time, then it's very likely something is wrong..

If you already give em anything he want (good diet, good water condition/temp, background) then maybe it was its true color and it wont turn onto very red...
