IMO, the way to know if a fh is comfortable is by its stress bar.. If the fh display stress bar for too long, then something is not right either from its surrounding or the water has turned bad.. & another thing is to see if the fh is active or not..
A fh that actively swims around all the time is usually a happy fish unless it gets provoked.. lol
