Would that explain the sick fish? And what should I do from here?

Keep testing your water. You may still be getting ammonia and nitrite spikes...very likely. Try to get your nitrate down some by continuing to do large waterchanges.

Ok how often should I test. And should I still dose with prime?

Test everyday...only dose with WC or if you have a spike
