I just stumbled across this website and the price on these seems very economical so I was wondering if anyone has experience with these. Are the window quality clear enough for the hobbiest to enjoy? I was thinking this would be a quick and easy way to have a huge tank that you can hide in a wall like the fishguy's tank. ANyone know the pro's and cons?
Thanks

if memory serves me right, those prices are close to the price of most of your nicer tanks people sell. personally i would pass it up, but thats just me

I agree on the smaller ones, but you wont find a 500+ gallon tank for anywhere close to the price on that site.

I would probably buy one without a window and install one myself.

I picked up this tank about twenty years ago and installed the windows, it was at least ten years old when I got it. It has been used indoors and out. One nice thing is that it is a 185 gallon tank that I can move by myself.

Thats not a bad idea either, though the window ones are actually cheaper then the ones without. I can always replace the glass if the quality is bad. I just figured it would be a great opportunity for someone to skip a lot of work and still get their monster tank. I always wanted a huge wall mounted tank in the basement next to the bar.

that's kinda shocking. one would think it would be the other way around. i think this is a great alternative in aquaria and I will probably end up doing the same for when some of the fish i keep get nice and chunky- rather than setting up a kiddie pool(not that there's anything wrong with that- those setups rock:headbang2)- but yeah. keep us updated on this.

Pretty good idea. I would worry about sealing a window on a totally flexible surface though. I guess there is some sort of ridgid frame used on the inside?

I think in the long run even if those tanks are cheaper.....you would be happier spending more and getting a standard glass or acrylic tank.
