Fiberglass Tanks?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's weird. I have that website bookmarked and have looked through it but never stumbled across those tanks (though they have a lot of stuff to look at which is probably why).

I might get one of those for the black arowanas I'm planning on getting. I like arows from the top the best but I'd also like to see them from the side sometimes I think.

I could probably make a tank like that myself but I dunno if I'd trust it not to leak. Maybe I'll make one for my outdoor pond and see how it goes.

Hidden at the end of my road is the Virginia Marine care center where they quarantine all the animals for the aquarium. They have a stack of those tanks outside the facility and my wheels have been turning since I first saw them. I always look down the street on trash day to see if any are out by the dumpster, no luck yet though.

Has anyone tried this product:

http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategor...4-holesaw-size

seems a lot cheaper than a bulkhead, but can you trust it?

Yes, and they work great! I have bought them here before for a little less:

http://www.aussieglobe.com/uniseal3.htm

I bought some uniseals from aquatic ecosystems the other day and I would not mind paying a little more for them because you get a free catalog with your order and talk about 420 pages of good information and hard to find stuff.

I guess those tanks would work but a diy tank might be a little cheaper... You have to remember shipping when you look at the prices of these tanks...

That being said, they could be a saving grace for those DIY challenged among us.

I got the 128 gallon from aquaticeco.com, here are some pics of it.
It looks pretty junky, but it does the job.

Awesome man!
"DIY challenged" is that a new group, if so count me in!
