Same as a high rate sand filter for pools. It really doesn't get any easier.

I used swimming pool filters back when i had 122 tanks in my fish room. A swimming pool filter is cheaper than your average canister like the FX5. Now for water changes i use holding tanks with colonized filters and sump pumps. In essence same as Kens. Love the tank Ken beautiful fish.

was this answered if so i must have missed it lol i would like see some and what pumps go well with them.

has anyone done this? is it cheaper. do you replace the sand with something else? its possible there is a thread on this already and i just missed it.
