Hi... Yes to the Tetra filter...!

Here is what I am using on my 350G in ground pond.

Now, as for the heat...

I would think that if you got some extra pond type tubing like 1 1/2" you could make a heat exchanger by digging a "Round" hole in the gound and coiling the tubing around the edge of the whole and then filling it back up with dirt that you would be able to use the sub surface gound temp to constantly cool the tank... The deeper the better... you could also leave it so there was a foot below grade and if you needed more cooling you could throw a bag or two of ice on top of the dirt and cover it with some old styro foam. the cold ice melt would seep down and lower the gound temp... you could even start the day, one that was going to be really hot by throwing a few bags in the hole in the morning so by noon it was good and cold... Also, shade it....

If you are moving a lot of water and also lowering the temp as it moves then there is no way it can get warm...
