Justclean this old filter up really good set it aside for a backup then go get a new bigger better one like a AC110 or penguin 350B. both are good. and will work WAY better then what you currently have. And you can get them online for about 40-45$ shipped. (at least the 350B)

it's like a whisper filter with the whole filter cartridge thing. I'm using it in my 20g and very happy with it. Bought it for $12 at petco - $2 survey - $10 rebate = $0 so i'm not complaining.
