Yeah, i was thinking about getting a pleco, but i dont want like a hecka small one then have it grow to like two times the size of my tank.

Never heard of diatom algae, only Diatom I am aware of the powder u use in a filter. I have found a sponge gets algae off good if it is bugging you. If you can get a dwarf variant of a pleco it wont grow to be a foot long. I have several false zebra plecos that are only the size of a Bic lighter and they are 2 years old.

Small plecs do great work! Its when they get big, then they don't like algae too much. Mine have kept algae to a minimum. No scraping needed.
