Here's a picture of my 75 gallon sump. It's 6ft long and has three chambers.
On the far left is the filter sock chamber, and on the far right is the submerged return pumps.
The middle is totally open, but I sectioned it off with egg crate for different purposes. The first section has the temperature sensor. The second section is the moving bed K2, you can see the small brown pieces, they are moving rapidly. The third section has ceramic rings. I got these before doing the moving bed, so I decided to keep them as an extra place for BB. The fourth section has the heater, and it is directly in front of where my son is standing so you can't see it.
This setup has worked great for me. I'm using 25 micron socks that I change out every 3 days but the water is very clear. I have 50 and 100 micron socks too if I'm feeling lazy.
