Filtration for 50 gal cichlid tank

I think the ratio for a sump compared to the tank it is filtering is that the sump should be about 30% the size of larger. I think you would be ok with a 10 gallon sump.
 
I run a medium size Cascade canister and the HOB that came with the tank new, so far I have had no problems and I have stocked up to 15 large African Mbuna's at one time, also I had at one point I had a large Oscar and Pelco before I went to Mbuna. Now I have a solo RD. Tank size 55g.

nothing right now, im just taking yall for a whiiiirrrllleleeeee! lol im mixxed right now, cause im not to sure about my sump making skills. i found a dude thats relatively close to where i live (Creepyoldguy on here) who i think i can ask if i need help. he is the one with the xp4. so either way i go, ill probly have the sump for the 50 but get a canister for my next project. IDK lol
