filtration for 55gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
so the only problem with the ones that are adjustable is noise? or are they as good as the other ones performance wise?

noise and the tendancy not to restart after a power failure...yes. Unless you tanks in a really cold room I doubt you need a 300 watt heater. I have 100's in all of my tanks that size...even the one in the laundry room. I have 300's in the 150 and larger tanks...and 150's in the 100/110 gallon tanks. I have no problem maintaining 78 to 86 degrees as needed.

im in colorado and its like 36 average this time of year, i think ill go with dual 100s or something

its that cold INSIDE? forget the fish and add heaters to the HOUSE lol

lol, luckily, its 65 deg inside, the tank is in my basement, which is always a bit colder

I have a trimac (11") and a midas (9") in a 55 gal. I use the E400 and the AquaClear 301 Powerhead with the quick filter for flitration. I like the E400 but like others have said .... the E400 has some issues with noise and restarting after a power failure. I dont have any problems with my water quality and I do 20% water changes and gravel sweeps weekly.
