hi i currently have a 60 gallon with a solo red devil would a penguin 350b be good enough filtration? if not what should i get?

I think it will suffice for the bio-load. Not sure about the mech though. I would do an Ac 110 set up for mech and bio and you would be better off...Still though it would be fine the way you have it...

The only way to really know is to try it and monitor your ammonia and nitrite. Depends on the size of the fish, if its large (>9-10") I would get some dual filtration going on the tank to be safe.

Burt :)

yea just dont blow him/her away. Id say if you have the money or can return the penguin id run a AC110, and you would be set.

Technically the penguin isnt enough. Try to run another HOB.

hey then if you really wanted to get serious you can mod it with your biowheels from your penguin 350!! lol

i find the penguin to be a whisper with a wheel that doesnt do anything special

I have a 60g with a Red Devil also. I am running two HOB filters and I have a powerhead for some current low down where all the crap tries to settle. The only other things I have are some gravel for him to play with and some snails. He's about 9" long and so far it has been working well. Id say get another filter and test water. I also like having two or more filters incase something breaks and so that you can clean one at a time and not worry about spiking. How big is your guy?
