personally I love Emp 400's .. Though I have experience with both Emps and AC 110's and the Ac 110 aka AC500. Are much quieter. you will notice the difference in noise immediately.
I have both as well, the Emps. sit dry as back ups if needed. ;) ;)

Im prolly gonna go with the AC since I already have 1, I havent decided if I want to go canister or wetdry.

My 125 has (now anyway) 2 AC 110's, and 2 XP2's, and is better looking, more stable, etc. than it's ever been.

So im guessing Canister filters would be a better choice than wet/dry? Only reason I ask is because not many recommendations on wet/dry.

How do you manage to get enough room on the back of the tank to hang so many things? I have XP3 and two emperors 400. This pretty much takes up all the room I have. BTW, your filter setup must be awesome since you're getting about 1600 gph vs my 1150 gph. I agreed that this is a super strong filtration setup. :headbang2

a wet/dry set up is a personal choice with it's own strengths and weaknesses but from your posted stocking list two Emporer 400's would be all you need. AC110's have a higher flow rate and CAN be quieter depending on age and maintance but can't even begin to compare to the emporers in bio-filtration. I have 6 emporers up and running and only one ac.... the rest are in reserve for occasional use in hospital and quarnteen tanks.

I ran a side by side comparison on equilly stocked 55's before making my decision.

With a 6 foot tank, it's really pretty easy. I could hang two more 110's on it if I wanted.

Would it be ok if I got a emperor 400 to go along with my ac110? or should i just go with 2 ac110 since i already have 1?

Anyone have a Eheim 2229 Pro Wet/Dry Canister Filter? If so are you happy with it? I was doin alil research and it sounds good to me.
