a wet dry if it is drilled or if you are feeling adventurous. but an fx5 or 2 will work great.

Hey guys what kind of filtration is better for a 180gal?
any suggestions?
Sorry, I don't quite understand your question. Better than what? Did you have a filter in mind that you need further justification on?

IMO multiple smaller filters is better then a single large filter. Alot will depend on the stocking of the tank. If you have the room a wet/dry sump would be your best bet. If you don't go sump I would do a pair of AC110s and at least one canister filter. Alot of people like the Fluval FX5, personally I would rather go with a pair of Rena XP3s or Eheim 2217s.

A pair of 2217's and a pair of ac110 would be a sweet setup.

which one is better to use? im planning to put 2 ac110.

1 rena fx5 and two ac110

Is your tank drilled? A sump will be the best bet.

I have a 180 and I used 3 AC110's and 1 Ehiem 2217. (still need more filtration)
I saved $200 not have the built in overflows for my 180 and I regret it. My previous 180 was drilled and I had a 55g sump and it was superior in every way.
