I am trying to decide what final tankmate(s) to put in with my 5 inch Oscar &
4 inch Jaguar Ciclid. There is also a 7 inch Lima Shovelnose Catfish as the bottom feeder.

They are all currently in a 75 gallon grow-out tank, but all will shortly move into a 240 gallon (96x24x24).

My current choices for tankmates are:

Peacock Bass (Mono or Orino)

Giant Red Tail Gourami

Jardini Arowana

4 Red tail Tinfoil Barbs or 4 Lemon Fin Barbs

Which one should I round out the tank with?

Does anyone have any other suggestions that I may not be considering?

As always thanks in advance for all help.:grinno:

I would add tin foil barbs and/or giant gourami. Stay away from jardini unless you want some dead tankmates.

Jardini are awesome, I got mine a few years ago. Hes too aggressive, I get attacked durring water changes and even attacks as I walk by. They are definatly worth keeping if you want a wet pet.

The Jardini and GRTG is not a good option at all.. Jar is too aggressive and GRTG won't put up with your Oscars bossiness

Come to think of it a nice school of Red Hook Silver Dollars would look nice.

Any major problems with the Peacock Bass, other than possibly its adult size?

I have recently considered a Midas Cichlid or a Green Terror but I know it would be a toss up with the Jag and Oscar because of the possible aggression level of the Midas or Green Terror.

Decisions. Decisions.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Red Hooks would be awesome. You could possibly do a bay snook. They may be too laid back though.

What do you think of 3 tinfoil barbs and 5 red hooks in 240 with the oscar and jag? Too much?

Thanks for the suggestions...I will definitely have some red hooks in there!
