What do you think of 3 tinfoil barbs and 5 red hooks in 240 with the oscar and jag? Too much?

Thanks for the suggestions...I will definitely have some red hooks in there!

That should work fine, just make sure you have good filtration.

After research I am strongly leaning to getting one Red Bay Snook and five Red Hook Silver Dollars.

Thanks to all for the information.

red hooks or regular SD will look good, your lemon barb idea was good too.don't see them often.another bigger barb with great color is filament barbs.not always available.t-barbs get big too!

Come to think of it a nice school of Red Hook Silver Dollars would look nice.

Any major problems with the Peacock Bass, other than possibly its adult size?

I have recently considered a Midas Cichlid or a Green Terror but I know it would be a toss up with the Jag and Oscar because of the possible aggression level of the Midas or Green Terror.

Decisions. Decisions.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Only problem with a Peacock Bass is weaning them off live food. I have done it but it took a lot of patience.

I thought about a Bichir but thought that they might be too aggressive for the Lima Shovelnose Catfish.
Am I wrong? I have always found the Bichirs very fascinating.

Thanks for the suggestion.

they are really not that aggressive just hungry if you are worried about your shovelnose you can go with a smaller species like the sengalas that only gets around 10'' to a foot. i have a sen and he is really peaceful and my favorite fish. they have amazing personality. i have mine in with a 2 to 3 inch jaguar and they get along. i also have two endli's that are just babies in with my frontosa babies that are not but 2 to 3 inches. you could also go with a plamus
