Finally found Tetraodon Schoutedeni

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
do you think they were wild caught or tank bred? If they are eating prepped food within minutes of hitting the tank, I'd think tank bred (I'd rather have tank bred vs. WC).

Probably also obvious based on price. The wild ones are usually 200 but I’ve heard you can buy them off of a breeder for much cheaper.

I was told they were wild caught, I basically have access to an importer through a friends llc.

Not that high, because i'm paying wholesale but still damn expensive. Definitely made me pucker when I had to hand over the cash.

These guys are doing amazing, eating extremely well on frozen bloodworms, krill and ramshorn and mystery snails. Probably my favorite tank, to watch right now. They're in a 125 60x18x28(ish). Do you think they'd be better suited to a 150 tall, 48x24x30? They seem to use the whole water column.

Bigger is always better but 125 is probably enough.

I think the 4x2 is better for establishing territories. 5 feet is good running room but the 1.5 feet may make evading attacks from others a little harder. 2 feet is better room for breaks in lines of sight.

That's what I was thinking also. Alright time to setup a new tank.
