My ropefish has been alone for a while now. I had bought three originally but lost two of them to tankmates.

So I traded a baby ornate for a new little guy, big thanks to Ric Foster!

Has anybody noticed my 'scape has been changing lately :naughty:

I'm working on some finishing touches today, hopefully finished by tonight with a 'progression' thread. :D

What are those green things in your tank they kinda look like......plants?
Nice rope looks like they are going to be fast friends :) Since you got it from a person it is probably safe but the last 2 I got had the external parasites but Prazipro took care of them fast.

Yeah it's a type of java fern. I haven't attached it to the driftwood yet, so the ropes were enjoying the temp. hide out :)

They look good. I lost mine, to the ornate I think. Something chomped on him and did internal damage. His previous owner would probably say that was karma for being so evil.

Nice rope how big are they do they eat pellets if so what kind mine doesn't seem to touch Carnivore Pellets. Mine is also only about 10"

An evil rope?! Wow, these things are like the peacefullest fish ever. Sorry to hear about the loss, I hate losing ropes.

They're still very small, appx 9"

The established one eats cichlid gold sinking, I'm not sure about the new guy yet.

The lady who gave it to me was sold it by a LFS. They told her it was the perfect oddball fish to go in her community 29. After it cleaned the tank of all those pesky guppies it started cutting down the overabundance of platies. She thought it was evil and gave it to me. I never had any problems with it, but I didn't keep it with anything that fit in it's mouth either.

 There's the catch! :)

She was quite angry with that store. First she told them she wanted something different, but no cichlids. They sold her a pair of parrots. She goes back and they give her half back as credit and sell her the ropefish. This is how to guarantee customer retention.:headbang2

Thanks for the trade Cohazard. Looks like the ropes are friendly together. He was eating 1 cube of frozen bloodworms daily. He had been a little sad the last week or so since his partner took a carpet nap. I'm really glad you've paired them. Best of luck to you
