I don't think you will have any issues adding more ropes. They seem to do better in numbers and will find an area to bunch up in to rest.

Thank you...i have heard that before but just wanted to make sure if you add another one after the other has been alone and is much older.. maybe still won't make a difference and that would be awesome... love to see a bunch of them together ... they are so social and active once they feel relaxed.

Thanks for the trade Cohazard. Looks like the ropes are friendly together. He was eating 1 cube of frozen bloodworms daily. He had been a little sad the last week or so since his partner took a carpet nap. I'm really glad you've paired them. Best of luck to you

Thank you Ric! How is the ornate settling in? Did you try feeding it yet? The other bichirs I've sold recently were eating right away, and you won't believe how fast that little ornate has grown since I got it.

Best of luck to you too, what are you keeping it with?

Thank you Liz :) So far, they seem to really be enjoying hanging around together. They're both male, so maybe I'll find some females in the near future. I do have to trade more bichirs away because of the new scape (less space :( ), but ropes are perfect for the new layout.

I thought you had more than one rope from what I remember in your pics? With the albino sens right?

Thanks brutha! They're still pretty small man, around 9" appx. I had to add more gravel today because I was worried about pressure points on the glass, so I didn't get the FTS yet. I will fire off a few shots tomorrow and see how they come out :)

Thanks man, I've been desperate for ropes but they seem to be out of em' in SoCal lately. Found one in long beach but it had some funky looking parasite, I might just swoop it up and treat it with some meds.

Very nice Serg!!! I loved my rope when I had him..I sooo want another!!!

Thank you G! :)

How's the availability of these out there? That's the most frustrating thing about these fish is their tendency to jump. Once they have a secure hide out spot though, I think they're good for teh most part.

Serg, how much and where can I find one with a good size so it does not become a meal?

That's the problem brutha, lately I can't find them. Usually Tom's in Long Beach has them, but remember last time we were there? Nada!

Can you swing by after work sometime and scope out the rope situation? He sells them at $13 each. I bought a 12" one there once, but it jumped! :irked:

Oh, try going up long beach blvd to where the exit from the 91 fwy is at. There is a white building labled 'pet store' owned by a guy named Steve (he's always at the counter :) ) cool guy, and he has ropes sometimes.

He usually has something rare too, I bet you'll find somethign you like :D
